ASA 103 and US Sailing Basic Keelboat certifications. I’ve been racing and cruising the last year in Seattle for CYC and STYC races. Most comfortable on mast in a race setting, though confident doing just about anything at cruising speeds. Friendly, positive, and eager to help where needed. Excited by all opportunities to get on the water. Will bring snacks and skipper’s beverage of choice.

Fair winds!

I have completed my ASA 101, and have experience sailing on boats both small (sailfish) and large (tallship and gaff rig.) I have limited experience on 20-50 foot range but am interested in learning more. I'm looking for any opportunity for racing or cruising, in Portland or the PNW.

I haven't sailed in over ten years but I'm interested in getting back into the sport. I'm looking to gain experience anywhere you see fit. I'm a 26 year old Army veteran who is willing to sail year around with the right crew. Currently refitting my own boat, an old 65 Pearson Triton.

I have been sailing for nearly 40 years. I learned to sail on SF Bay and until I moved to Portland had my own Newport 30 which I sailed weekly. I"ve taken and passed several of the ASA courses including Coastal Cruising, and have chartered boats in Europe and elsewhere. I'm a little old and heavy to do foredeck these days, but otherwise I'm I have crewed on numerous boats and am happy to play any role required of me.

Built my own sailboat. Sailed it more than 40,000 miles. For 20 years was US Coast Guard, licensed shipmaster for sale and power vessels, skipping a variety of other ships.

I’ve sailed a Balboa 26’, lateen sail Chrysler Baracuda, and Hobie Catamaran (all on lakes). However, I’ve never taken a class nor had any instruction. I’m still a beginner even though I’ve had a bit of experience. I work hard, and know the importance of following direction and coordinating as a team on the water. I’m new to the Portland area and would love the opportunity to crew, to learn more about sailing and spend time on the water.

Hello, I'm Mary! In 2001 I sailed across the Atlantic Ocean on a Norwegian tall ship named the Christian Radich. 40 days and 40 nights, what a life-changing experience. The Christian Radich was a traditional working ship so we all worked in rotating overnight and day time shifts. I am interested in sailing again. Unfortunately, many of the skills I learned are not transferable to smaller vessels. Additionally, I learned many of the terms in Norwegian lol. So I am experienced and very inexperienced all at the same time. I do arrive to all of life's tasks with patience, commitment, and determination. Thank you for considering me for your crew. 🙂

I have my ASA101, 103, & 104. I worked @ island sailing club spring/summer 2022, and raced at the club that season. I also was reserve skipper on a Tahiti to New Zealand crossing Dec '22-Jan '23. I regularly sail here in Portland & would love to do so through the winter. I'm looking to be more connected to the sailing community, improve my racing skills, and contribute to a fun and successful Sailing on Sundays season with a friendly, knowledgeable skipper and crew. Thanks!

Recently took the beginner class at Willamette Sailing Club and got all the experience on a 420. Quite a while back raced on Catalina 25s half a dozen times, generally as foredeck or a 5th person with minor jobs. Also sailed in Bayfield Wisconsin on a C&C 44 and a bigger boat that was a custom build, there I repacked chutes below deck but was usually weight or a gopher.

I am 115 pounds so likely my most useful position is foredeck, especially on small boats.

Completed at Passion Yachts:
101 Basic Keelboat
103 Coastal Cruising
I'm age 67 and want sailing experience. I have a 25' Catalina at my Hayden Island floating home but hardly ever take it out. I work 40 hours per week through December then I'm retired and completely free.

I've done ASA 101,103,104,106,118 and US Sailing Safety at Sea Offshore. I have raced cruiser class and J-24's and have experience troubleshooting technical issues and doing repair work.

I'm looking for an opportunity to get out on the water for more than a few hours at a time -- would like to help with a delivery or crew for a cruise along the coast, San Juans, or Gulf islands. My schedule is flexible.

Hello!

I learned to sail while in the Navy and spent the last ten plus years letting life get between me and the water. While being spoiled by the Naval Marinas, I crewed on a few 30-40 foot boats for day sails and on a 73-foot traditional rigged schooner. Other than that it was mostly time spent solo-sailing in 14 to 24 foot boats.

I have completed the ASA 101 course here and I am scheduled to complete 103/104 this season as well.

I am easy going, good at taking direction and take safety very seriously.

Looking for any opportunity to get back out there!

Thanks,
Steve

Experience:
Basically none. I’ve been on a short sailing outage in a dingy on the Columbia that exposed me to some fundamentals.

Interest:
Looking for an opportunity to get on a boat and learn. I plan on taking courses next summer. Until then, just looking for more exposure.

Beginner, took classes with Cliff and Ariel at PSC on an Ericson 23. I wanted to learn to sail after learning some basics and being a passenger sailing the SF bay growing up. I loved it, I’m excited to learn more. I’m a fast learner, I’m pretty chill under pressure and love to meet new people who are also excited to teach.

I have taken a sailing class at Portland Sailing Center with Cliff, Ariel, and Erica and have gone on an overnight trip in a Pearson 39 to the Cascade Locks and back. I learned to sail on a Ericson 23 (and the Pearson 39) and have learned how to run most of all the positions on a sail boat. I am a beginner, but I love a challenge. You may have to give me a few pointers on the specific boat, but I pick things up quick. Thank you!

I used to sail small 10' boats on a lake, but have no firsthand experience on larger cruisers. Looking to learn, follow direction, work hard, for some experience on your boat. Out of work right now so available most days.

I used to crew on Wy'East for several years. Did an Offshore and a Swiftsure and a few other offshore sailing trips. Life happened and I haven't sailed in a few years. Just looking to get back into it and willing to take whatever position is available.

Hi! I just got my ASA 101 and I want to join a crew to practice sailing and be more confident before to start ASA 103 and 104. I have no preferred crew position as I'm novice at sailing. Also my schedule is flexible so I'm available.
I'm French and I moved to Vancouver 4 years ago. Learning to sail is a wish I have since I was a teenager (I'm in my forties now) and sailing on the Columbia River will sure procure the fun and challenge needed! (Also already a challenge for me to learn all these new things in English!)

I took the San Juan sailing six night live aboard ASA 101,103,104 class this summer in July on an 40 ft Beneteau and I am looking to continue my sailing education.
