Hello! I will be in Portland from March 20 through April 30 (2018) and would like to gain more sailing experience. I learned the basics of how to sail when I was younger and have recently completed a Baja Sailing Expedition with NOLS (National Outdoor Leadership School) in which I refined my sailing skills for 22 days in the Sea of Cortez. I am interested in racing or cruising and am very competent helming, points of sail, navigation, anchoring, line handling and knots, and many other aspects of sailing.

Hello,

I'm looking to crew in the 2018 Oregon Offshore and/or Swiftsure. I've been racing on the Columbia river for several years and been crewing on Molika with Gary Bruner for a little over two years. I'm ready to take it up a notch and gain some off-shore experience.

I'm currently taking classes through the Island Sailing Club and eager to learn as much as I can in order to advance my sailing career.

I am both mechanically and technically minded. I also perform well in high-stress situations.

Sailing is my passion. Started in Opti's then Snipes, Lightnings, J 24, big boat ( J 29, Tripp 40, One Ton North Americans, Irwin 52 cruising slug ) buoy and distance racing on Lake Michigan including more Chicago/Mackinaw races then I can remember. ( Chicago/Mackinaw-- 330 nm south end to north end of Lake Michigan ) , Everglades Challenge ( 300 nm unsupported adventure race from Tampa Bay to Key Largo in open boats. I sailed a Hobie 18 with wing decks . ) 2012 singe handed trans Atlantic attempt in a Cal 20. Time restraints and tropical storm Debbie forced a return to NYC, total 19 days at sea.

Looking to do some sailing this spring before heading back to Michigan for the summer then back in Oregon in Sept for the winter. Racing, daysailings does not matter as long as I get on the water.

Currently own 3 OP's, Hobie 18, two Cal 20's and a Bristol 29.

I'll even help with boat work. ( 15 yrs professional boatyard roust-a bout. )

My sailing experience comes from sailing with my dad when I was a teenager (I'm 23 and able bodied). He was a member of the Humboldt Yacht Club and we participated in many regattas and races including open ocean racing. I am extremely rusty since its been a few years since I've been able to get on the water however my last crew positions were helmsman on a holder 20, helmsman of a NACRA 17 and skipper on a laser. I would very much enjoy the opportunity to sail again in any capacity!

I am looking for a boat to race on for this years Oregon Offshore and Swiftsure. I have all my gear and am Safety at Sea certified still.

Thanks!

I am looking for a potential crew position for Oregon offshore 2018. I have helped run the finish line for the race the last two years. I race my Capri 25 regularly during the winter and have crewed a lot on a Martin 241. I have completed the safety at sea seminar and have crossed the bar and sailed on the ocean for a few hours while crewing on a Pearson 39. I have also crewed on schock 35, cascade 36, mumm 36, and cal 27. I am comfortable anywhere on the boat and am hoping for an opportunity to get some ocean experience.

Looking to crew Oregon Offshore

I'm a solid intermediate sailor in Seattle, having worked on on jib trim, spinnaker trim, pit, mast, various foredeck configurations (dipping pole, end to end, bowsprit, creatively engineered).
Can drive to relieve driver in decent weather. Main trim is my least practiced position, and would like to get better with that at some point.
Having previously been a climber, I'm totally cool with going up the mast and have own harness.

I usually volunteer to help deliver, and have delivered in various weather conditions both driving and assisting.
Have crewed in races ranging from Ballard Cup Mondays to RTC, N100, Swiftsure, etc (various boats in 30' - 46' range).
Likely crewing Pac Cup on a SF boat. Safety at Sea Feb 2017. Wilderness/Remote First Responder certification Dec 2017.
Catalina 30 owner (Inara), so get what it means to be a boat owner and skipper.
Needless to say, have proper crew gear for all conditions including chilly rainy (PNW) offshore.

Aside from diverse crewing skills I bring witty conversation, a neato camera if you like crew photos, and typically a delicious snack and/or interesting beverage to share.
And can make a darned good chili [from scratch] for overnight races.

Races I'm highly focused on crewing are the usual local Seattle race series via CYC, SYC, STYC, etc
And also Oregon Offshore, Swiftsure, Smith Island, Protection Island, N100, RTC, etc.

Reliable, team-oriented & easy to work with sailor looking for a crew spot on the Oregon Offshore Race 2018.
I raced the OOR and the Swiftsure in 2017 and I race regularly in Puget Sound races (Duwamish, Blakely Rock, etc). I've sailed in Hong Kong with the RHKYC Impala series as well.
I have general cruising experience in Northern California (Bay Area and Offshore), Southern California, Oregon/Washington and I completed a trans-pacific crossing from Gig Harbor, WA to Honolulu, Hawaii last year (36 Morgan T).
I am ASA106 certified and I completed the Safety at Sea seminar in 2017 (so still valid for this year's race).
I have no issue traveling anywhere in the NW for team practice, etc. It would be great to hear from you and your team!

I don't have any experience racing, but am ready and excited to learn! I'm strong, have a good attitude and know how to show up on time and work hard.

I grew up sailing/racing dinghies. About 2 years ago I decided to get back into it with the goal of offshore racing. I have taken ASA 101-104, I have my International Certificate of Competence (ICC) and RYA Day Skipper theory plus many Nauticed classes (I can email my full resume on request). I have chartered boats up to 45' in the San Juan's several times. I have sailed at least once per week for the last 2 years and take part in both winter and summer Columbia River race series and Puget S. Sound on boats between 22 and 35 feet. I am currently purchasing a 33' boat of my own with the long term goal of taking part in the Oregon Offshore. I would very much like to crew on a boat in the 2018 Oregon Offshore. I took the "Offshore Safety at Sea Course with Hands-on Training" in 2017.

My experience on the river also includes 8 years in the US Coast Guard Auxiliary. My work schedule limits me to weekend sailing for now.

Own and have Day sailed and coastal cruised a 28 O'day out of New London harbor, CT. Primarily Long Island sound, Fishers Island sound and Block Island Sound. I have just finished grad school in AZ and would like to get back on saltwater with someone with some experience. I have never sailed the Pacific. I would like to become comfortable with longer voyages and spend more time in open ocean. I am based out of S-central WA and have fairly regular two week periods free.

I have sailing experience, though I am mainly self taught. I lived aboard a Tanzer 22 for a few years and cruised her around the Puget Sound. I'd like to learn more about sailing and get involved in the PDX sailing community. I am a quick learner, I take direction well and I am all for foul weather sailing!

I'm interested in joining the Portland racing scene. I've been sailing in Seattle for the past 2 years both racing and cruising. I have experience on both small boats (J/22) and large boats (Swan 441) and am a bit of a jack of all trades on the various positions. I know and have experience on each one, but haven't worked one consistently. I also have a little bit of dinghy experience. Ideally, I'm hoping to join a crew that is planning on participating in the Oregon offshore next year, but I'm open to crewing with anybody.

Was enlisted in the Navy, am familiar with how to cast lines and the inner workings of a vessel. I pick up on new information quickly and rarely need to be shown more than once on how to perform a task. I am interested in sailing because of my love for the environment at sea. I do not mind working long hours, or last minute changes as long as I get to be back out on the water.
