Riva Receives USCG Aid

On Tuesday, July 19th, an HC-130H aircraft from Air Station Barbers Point successfully dropped medicine and medical supplies to the crew of the S/V Riva, racing in the 2016 PacCup. The vessel was halfway between California and Hawaii when one of the crew members had a medical emergency, and the HC-130H traveled over 1,200 nautical miles to make the aerial delivery.

According to Riva’s race blog, the crewmember “…is now significantly improved and on his way to a full recovery.”

Our thoughts and well wishes go to the entire Riva crew, and all those racing to Hawaii, and our deepest gratitude to the US Coast Guard for their assistance and service.
