Vancouver Lake Youth Regatta

Vancouver Lake Sailing Club (VLSC) will be hosting a youth sailing regatta this Saturday and Sunday, June 22-23, beginning at 1:00 pm, with lunch and a skippers meeting starting around noon. This is the first in a series of races sponsored by the Northwest Youth Racing Circuit (NWYRC) and put on by local clubs and sailing centers. According to VLSC’s Commodore, Phil Parshley, they expect to have about 60 boats in Optis and other small sailing dinghies.

If you have kids or grandkids that might be interested in seeing what junior sailing/racing is all about, this would be a great weekend to watch junior sailors handling boats, to meet some parents, and generally to get a good dose of exposure on how fun this kind of sailing can be for youngsters.
