Reminder: only one week left to perfect your chili!
It’s nearly time to celebrate living through another winter of CYC’s Sailing on Sunday. Cap’n “Chumbucket” has issued his annual “Chili Cook-off Potluck Challenge”, his galley crew versus your galley crew. Plan is to present your Potluck offering at the PYC (Portland Yacht Club) dining room after the last Sail on Sunday Race on March 3rd.
This presents a chance to THANK Stewart Carter for keeping the scores straight. And, be sure to find Gary Bruner at the party to get your Participation Sticker. Skippers could get one Gold, one Silver and/or one bronze, depending on how the boat finished on a weekly basis. Or “participation” if one didn’t end up on a podium or serve as RC.
Nothing else is new this year, but remember … we are guests of PYC.
#1 The PYC bars will be open and serving (no host, Credit Cards only) from about 2 to 7PM. That means no outside alcoholic beverage into the Club or on the Patio. PYC will have Bar Food Menu items available (But you are coming for the Chili).
#2 There will be no access to the PYC kitchen, so bring serving utensils.
#3 Don’t forget a donation to cover the supplies. We have plates, bowls, plasticware, cups and napkins.
#4 We will need to be cleaned up and out by 6 PM. Many hands will make quick work. (Just like putting the boat away)
#5 RSVP with a crew head count Most of you know the drill (its kind of like Sundays, 1300 hrs, channel 72, 14 ~ XXX). Looking for chili’s, cornbread, salads, & desserts.
Looking forward to seeing all your smiling faces, and hearing your boasts, after the race!
