Hello everyone, I’m looking to meet some local sailors and hopefully get out on the water more.

I took a sailing class at the Portland Sailing Center a few years ago, but other than that I don’t have much experience. I’d love the opportunity to learn, help crew, and connect with people who occasionally want another person along for a casual sail or a longer adventure.

I’m 36, live in Portland, and I’m responsible, easygoing, physically capable, and willing to help with whatever needs to be done. I’m also happy to contribute toward food, fuel, or other expenses.

24 years old looking to learn about sailing. I’ve been interested for the past year and I’m looking to get some experience in while also meeting new people. I have no experience whatsoever, but I learn quickly, am able bodied, and I’ll bring beer!

I took the beginner sailing classes at the Portland Sailing Center in the summer of 2025 and came back in 2026 for a refresher course. I'm looking for more opportunities to get out on the water, keep practicing, and build my confidence and skills. I'm eager to learn, help however I can, and been a proactive crew member.

I raced weekly in San Diego and I was the retail manager at a small rig shop for three years. These days I prefer a good day sail but any chance to get on the water is a great day for me. It's been a very long time but I used to run foredeck on a Soling and raced quite a bit in the SF Bay. I'd like to get back into racing/cruising here in PDX and looking for a boat, possibly a J24 as I noticed there seems to be a decent fleet of them here.

I sailed on the PSU sailing team for a year during college and have done a few multi-day sailing trips. I'm looking to gain more experience on the water and increase my knowledge so that one day I'll be able to captain a ship on a blue water trip. I begin formal training in 2027.

I've taken the beginner and intermediate sailing classes at Willamette Sailing Club on C420s. Relatively new to sailing, but very comfortable on the water and in small boats. Very interested in learning, and not afraid to hike way out there on a dinghy. Would be happy to try crewing on a keelboat.

Recently did a week sailing around Sweden's archipelago; no prior sailing experience but got bit by the sailing bug and looking to spend more time on boats. I mostly work week-on, week-off so on off weeks have a huge amount of flexibility but also am not able to commit to consistent weekly availability for any day/time slot.

Trash Panda needs one more crew member! Don’t be shy if you want to get out and sail! Cal 20’s are stable and forgiving boats. The fleet is competitive and friendly. We currently have two on the boat. Looking for a third. The priority is having fun and consistently getting out on the water. Races are Thursday evening’s along with some weekend races. We are always learning and it is totally fine if you are a beginner. We all have to start somewhere. Being competitive comes in time and my focus is building a steady crew and a safe and healthy environment for anyone that joins.

We are not a training boat per se, but can add to the development of the right person. We are all about racing consistently and improving our game every time. We are currently using the Tuesday night series to prepare for the J/105 North Americans Championship in October. Come race with us.

New skipper with several years experience racing and cruising on Puget Sound, now getting to know the Columbia River on my CAL 22. It’s a simple and fun boat, great for learning the fundamentals of sailing.

The Columbia has some interesting character (current, commercial traffic, bridges), so every trip is a good learning experience.

I have a new-to-me 1991 Catalina 28 Tall-Mast.

While I am an experienced skipper (20 years), I am new to the Columbia, new to Dragonfly and new to Rose City Yacht Club. I would love crew for the first several outings (motor or motor-sail) until I am familiar. I have passed my ASA 101 class. It's not sailing so much now that I want help with as just being on the water with someone who has local knowledge.

I am planning to be out a couple of days a week through winter so that I'm comfortable single-handing by summer. HMU and Let's get on the water!

NEED CREW FOR THE OFFSHORE RACE, IN THE CRUISING CLASS. I have been sailing for 50 years. Before the pandemic, in a previous boat, over a period of about four years, I took more than 500 people sailing on the Columbia. I have crossed the CRB eight times and sailed both up and down the coast. In 2026, for the first time, I will participate in the PNW Offshore Race [see https://www.pacificnwoffshore.org/], in the cruising class. I am looking for crew for that event. I will select three people so that, including myself, there will be four of us aboard. However, I need to recruit a few additional potential crew members, as alternates, in case one or more of the persons I select are unavailable for any reason. I require all crew members for this event to (1) have sailed for at least a few days offshore, (2) have at least three years of sailing experience, and (3) have come sailing with me at least twice prior to this event. After the race, I plan to keep my boat in the Salish Sea for a month or two; therefore, crew members will have to arrange for their own return trip. 22 foot boat on Hayden Island sails best with a crew of 4. No experience needed. We just have fun and don’t expect to win the two hour winter races. Sail on Sunday starts at 1pm and we leave the dock at noon. Back to dock by 4pm

My wife and I own a Hunter 35 sloop.A two person crew was bringing her home from Port Angeles when our Yanmar broke a pushrod. I have a brand new Yanmar 3YM30AE motor and trans coming in a week. We are currently docked at Westport Marina in Grey's Harbor Wa. I need help to get her to Hyden Island on the Columbia River. Please respond if can, best regards, Joe.
