I completed the ASA 101 course last summer. This summer, I've been helping a friend of my sail is Catalina 22. I'm looking for more opportunities to learn and practice. I'm fit and ready to work hard.

I gained my ASA 101 certification last summer. I recently completed a combined 103/104 course in the San Juan Islands. This was a 5 day live aboard course. It was an amazing experience. I am now hoping to get on the water on a regular basis to practice and become as complete of a sailor as I can. I am free during most of the summer during the day and evening. I know Portland has a vibrant race scene. I would be happy to join a boat with great people willing to teach. I am also interested in day sailing.

My name is Andrey. While I have no sailing experience, I am very comfortable on the water and learn technical skills quickly. I was a competitive swimmer in high school, worked as a lifeguard. I enjoy water sports such as whitewater rafting and surfing.
I am a career firefighter/paramedic in the Vancouver area with five years of service at a very busy firehouse. I work well under pressure, adapt quickly, and take instruction well.
My long-term goal is to become a competent sailor and eventually own a sailboat of my own. Thank you for your consideration.

I’m putting beginner on here because it’s been years since I’ve raced or even been on the water. I’m hoping it’s like riding a bike. My past experience in sailing started as a kid and went into college on the Columbia. Then I went out East and lobstered for years. It’s been about 10 years since doing anything on the water and I’m loosing my mind. Call it midlife crises at 50. Wanting to help deliver, cruise, and race. Cheers.

New to area spent most of my life in Connecticut.
50+Years all types of boats including catamarans.
Raced in many Districts, North Americans and one World Championship
Extensive experience in One Designs that I have owned ( Starboats, Etchells, J Boats)
Also costal and offshore sailing in my own boats eg: Hood 50 Ketch. Voyage 440 CAT, Swan 44 mark II, Oyster 55, Najad 38. Have been a Tactician and Watch Captain on other boats.
Have cruised Bahamas, East Coast to include Nova Scotia, Maine, Bahamas and throughout the Caribbean as far south as Venezuela.
Have also raced Costal and Ocean Races such as the Marblehead-Halifax, Bermuda, Jamaica, and Antigua.
Most of my sailing experience has been racing however after retirement I have lived on my boat in the Caribbean for the last 3 years.
My interest now is to possibly helping people new to sailing (Specifically Racing)
to speed up their learning and give back to a sport I have enjoyed most of my life.
I would also going out just to day sail if crew is needed. My payment would be a day on the water.
I also know most of the islands in the Bahamas and Caribbean if anyone is thinking about chartering would be happy to help plan your vacation.

Hi everyone,
Besides youtube videos, I don't have any sail experience, but I love to be on the water: surfing, paddle boarding ect. and I'm also pretty handy. I used to be an airplane mechanic in the air force and work on my car from time to time, so if you need help doing work around the sailboat, I would be more than happy to help out.
I have been interested in sailing for the last couple years and I'm finally doing something about it. Eventually I would like to get my own sailboat, and maybe start with a Hobie Cat, but I want to learn how to sail first.

I’m Liam, I’m 30 and I’m very interested in learning to sail. I have very little experience but am willing to learn and do what I’m asked. I have taken a sailing course and been out for day sail but my knowledge is limited. I know basic knots, points of sail and basic maneuvers but lack practice and hours out on the water. Looking for any skipper who needs a hand out there. Thanks

Mostly a cruiser, in the last couple years I sailed my own boat (cat) from France to the Caribbean and then up and down the eastern chain for a couple of seasons. Prior to that cruising in the Bahamas (again, cat). Done a bit of racing on a 70' mono in the English Channel but that was awhile back, foredeck was fun. Looking for a bit of fun in the summer before I head back to the Caribbean.

I am available to crew this summer and comfortable in all positions. I would describe myself as a strong intermediate. I have raced my own 32’ one design 5.5mR on Fern Ridge Lake for several years in a competitive one design fleet. I have raced in Portland in a couple of different boats flying both symmetrical and asymmetrical kites. I have raced in Puget sound on 6mR boats. Please give me a call if you are looking for a fill in person or if you have an open position on your boat.

I am getting back into things after ~8 years away, and while I am comfortable with the theory/textbooks, I need a refresher on the practical application. I originally learned via a "Fast track to Bareboat Cruising" course, but the bulk of my time on the water occurred solo on lasers and small boats with daggerboards.
I am a quick/eager learner with the desire to eventually engage in offshore passage-making, so I am motivated to learn as much as possible and to maximize my time on the water.

I crewed on Settings Star this winter as a jib trimmer. I have an ASA 101 certification and a going for my 103-104 in the San Juan’s this summer. I am a member of OSWA and have done Wednesday night sails for 2 years. I would like to find a boat out yet that I can be a floater- substitute on due to my somewhat busy and variable schedule.

I did 3 levels of training with the Clipper Race in the UK in 2023, I was unable to race due to an acute cornea infection. I joined OWSA and have been out on the river as crew a number of times with the Wednesday night sail and on couple of other boats since summer 2025.
I am eager to learn, quick on my feet, and a great team player. : )

Hello!
My name is Amy Harding. I'm 5'10" and strong. I was crew on a 24 ft sailboat that raced on the Columbia in my 20s. I'm now 58. I am interested in joining a crew. I will need some refreshing. 🙂
Also, availability-wise, I work a rotating evening schedule. Whatever days I work one week are the days I have off the next. In other words, I could participate every other week at best.
I hope to hear from you soon.
Best,
Amy

I'm teachable, coach able, able bodied, and willing to work hard doing whatever is needed. I just want to get time on boats and build my skill. I'm just getting into sailing but I have good instincts and learn quickly. 42 years old with engineering background including fluid mechanics, so I have a good sense for the wind, how it moves, and how the boat sails. I'd love to help crew either racing or cruising. Give me a chance! If you want I'll even bring the dad jokes.

I’m an aviator with extensive experience in navigation. Sailing has always intrigued me, but I never had the opportunity to be a part of it. Recently, I learned about these opportunities and am now looking forward interacting with people to learn the sport.
