A Race Management seminar took place on January 22nd with seasoned instructors Jeffrey Zarwell and Eric Rimkus. Topics discussed included ensuring safety of competitors and race committee, choosing courses to give competitors the best possible races, adjusting the course in response to changing conditions, starting and finishing fleets and scoring the event.
To expand our local pool of qualified Principal Race Officers (PROs), OCSA (Oregon Corinthian Sailing Association) offered to refund registration fees for OCSA members who both pass the Club Race Officer test and serve as Principal Race Officer (PRO) for a non-Friday OCSA race in 2017.
Consequently, we would like to congratulate the following individuals for their passing scores – well done!!!
- Michelle Bennett
- Randy Poff
- Nat Powning
- Alan Sekol
- Michael Stainsby
We look forward to the possibility for each to become certified Race Officers!
