The buzz about town is that SYSCO is converting their Tuesday and Thursday evening Summer Race Series into a no-trophy organized race night for those who can safely get their vessel out, including seriously modified Race Committee instructions and duties. Instead of trying to explain it, click this link to read the notice SYSCO sent to their membership.
Please register your boat here sooner, rather than later, to help SYSCO’s Race Captain, Gregg, organize the Race Committee duties, so that volunteers can observe all necessary safety precautions.
To accompany this season-opening sailing event, SYSCO is also hosting a virtual Race Clinic (featuring OCSA Rear Commodore, Bruce Newton) this Thursday evening, May 21, from 7:00 to 9:00pm. Contact Gregg Bryden to obtain the Zoom link, so you can attend the virtual meeting. If you cannot attend this virtual clinic for whatever reason, a recorded session will be made available afterwards.
To avoid a “virtual” scheduling conflict, CYC (Corinthian Yacht Club) graciously moved their “Zoom-a-Palooza” event to May 28th. Check out the OCSA Calendar for details on this fun event about the Pacific Northwest Offshore Race!
