Ever wonder what it takes to put on a sailboat race? Or, want to learn more about racing?
If you are interested in becoming a part of race management, or just curious about how the Race Committee (RC) makes the decisions it does, this workshop is a must! OCSA (Oregon Corinthian Sailing Association) is offering a free (yes, FREE!) Race Committee Workshop next Thursday (2/26), and a great opportunity for sailors to learn about the planning and coordination involved in managing a sailboat race, and important rules for the Race Committee and competitors. You will learn about topics such as courses, timing, erratic weather contingencies, and much more. Also covered will be the OCSA Sailing Instructions (local rules changes), and how those may effect RC operations. There will be a brief Q&A session at the end.
All sailors are encouraged to contribute to your sailing community by attending this training session and volunteering to help with race committee duties throughout the season.
