Every year OCSA (Oregon Corinthian Sailing Association) recognizes the outstanding members of our sailing community, who make it the vibrant community that it is. There are four awards (each with a perpetual trophy) that are presented each year. The awards are as follows:
- Sailor of the Year : for the individual who has gone beyond the call of duty in their contributions to the sailing community
- Good Times : the sailor who always seems to have the most infectious good time
- Welcome Slough : the sailor who has put forth extra effort to be involved in the sailing community
- US Sailing Sportsmanship : the sailor who has exhibited Corinthian sportsmanship both on and off the water
Please think about the people you know that deserve recognition and let us know about them. The process is simple – just go to this link through October 20th and share your thoughts! Your nominations are confidential and input is very welcome from all sailors, not just OCSA members. Feel free to forward this message to your team members and feel free to go back to the site to nominate additional people up until the Oct 20 cut off (2 weeks following the last race of the season). To view last year’s and prior years’ award recipients, please click this link – some awards go back more than 50 years!
Also, please mark your calendar for the OCSA Tropical Party on November 2, which will again be held at Warehouse 23 this year. There will be plenty of space, so bring your crew, friends and family!
We look forward to seeing you at the Awards Party and Banquet, and appreciate your input!
