Hello,

I have about 175 hours of sailing experience that includes a basics 1 sailing course at Portland Sailing Center, a one-week bareboat charter with an experienced captain in the Sea of Cortez, and most recently, I completed and passed my ASA 101, 103, 104 certification courses in the San Juan Islands. I also participated as crew on a Merit 25 that unfortunately is no longer racing on the Columbia. I am 65 years old, but consider myself fit for both racing and cruising. My goal is to learn more about sailing and ultimately own and/or charter a 30-35 ft sailboat to sail in the San Juan and Gulf Islands. I am available almost all summer and am willing to sail in the fall and winter, but have travel conflicts between October and February. I'd be happy to provide more details if you think I might fit as crew on your boat, and can provide both local references and a reference for my ASA courses if helpful.

New sailor looking to race and learn more about sailing. I have a small amount of experience of racing J/24s (3 races) in Charleston, SC and have cruised a number of times in a J 105 but am very much a novice and working on developing my skills and techniques.

Used to sail all the time, was a Sea Scout Officer, helped sail a ketch from Humboldt to Portland, and have been sailing a bunch as a kid. Would love to get back into it and brush up on my knowledge. Looking forward to sail any size and type of vessel!

I have grown up with coastal and offshore sailing on 32ft-40ft boats in Hong Kong. Most of my competitive racing was in 29ers and Nacra F16/F18s. Raced collegiately in CFJs. I have completed numerous overnight races and open water races as well. Recently moved into the Portland area, and looking forward to get out on the water here!

Completed Sail & Power Squadron courses in boating, sailing, marine navigation & piloting, and weather. Crewed on an Alberg 35 for weekend club racing from 2007-2012 on Seneca Lake (35 mi. long) in the Finger Lakes Region of New York State. Also regularly assisted the Captain with repairs on the Alberg 35. I recently moved to Portland and am very interested in getting back into sailing via crewing. I'm mostly looking for more experience as crew delivering boats. I've done a few (Newport to Astoria and Portland to Bellingham) and looking for more. I'm knowledgeable and reliable and come with references. I've taken ASA 101 - 104 and I have the goal of getting my captains license in the near future. I have a flexible schedule and a passport. I’ve completed an intro to sailing course with Portland Sailing School, 12 hours of solo boat time on small 25’ boats and an overnight trip to cascade locks on a 35’ boat with a small crew. I am looking to get more experience on the water this summer, and really interested in racing and learning to sail fast and efficiently.

I’m interested in joining a J24 racing team. I have experience fleet racing and match racing J24’s in college. I will be racing with Pathfinder on Tuesdays/Sundays already. I’m am looking to race Thursdays. I will be racing offshore in may so I won’t be able to start until after that.

I am a fit 64 yr old that fell in love with sailing only last year. I completed the 18 hour basics sailing class at Portland Sailing Center. Last fall we took an overnight sailing course on the Columbia River up through the Cascade locks. Last week I returned from a week-long bareboat charter in Mexico that was led by one of our Portland Captains. I also sailed some other boats for a few hours last year, so I believe I have about 80 hours of sailing experience. I am looking for a crew position on a competitive boat. I love to race and have experience on all positions. I am particularly looking for a position on a competitive PHRF or one design like a J105. I am available for practice sessions, race days and able to take time off to race Swiftsure, Anacortes Week or any other regattas as I am self employed. I own a 32’ Erickson Scorpion 5.5 Meter and race every Wednesday in Eugene in a one design fleet of the same boats with a crew of 4. I live in Portland and would like to race closer to home and more often. Hi- enthusiastic sailor looking to sail in the PNW Offshore or other ocean races. Couple of deliveries from Portland to Seattle and reverse. Willing to listen- know I have plenty to learn. Hoping to find a relaxed boat atmosphere. I have some training (ASA 101-106). I have Safety@Sea training that is valid until 2027. I will complete a Mariner's First Aid certificate by the end of February 2024. Currently sailing on the Columbia with Sailing on Sundays, and typically sail on Tuesdays during the summer.
