Hard worker, fast learner, work well with others. No experience racing, but have cruised a bit, taken a sailing course, and have a dinghy that I sail as often as able. Wide open schedule ready to be filled up with practice and races (or anything that gets me out on the water and learning). Early 30s, 5'11", 170 lbs. Eager to learn more about the technical side of sailing. Mold me into whatever position. Look forward to hearing from you!

I am 101 cert'd with about 30hrs of sailing experience on the Columbia (on different boats). Working sheets or helm is comfortable. My mate Sam can also join to help complete a crew. I think ideal fit would be someone has a boat and just wants to use it more.

I am looking for a mentor to teach me how to sail. I'm looking to learn all I can about the sea and one day write a book about what I've learned.
I'm strong willed and a fast learner.

Hello,

I have about 175 hours of sailing experience that includes a basics 1 sailing course at Portland Sailing Center, a one-week bareboat charter with an experienced captain in the Sea of Cortez, and most recently, I completed and passed my ASA 101, 103, 104 certification courses in the San Juan Islands. I also participated as crew on a Merit 25 that unfortunately is no longer racing on the Columbia. I am 65 years old, but consider myself fit for both racing and cruising. My goal is to learn more about sailing and ultimately own and/or charter a 30-35 ft sailboat to sail in the San Juan and Gulf Islands. I am available almost all summer and am willing to sail in the fall and winter, but have travel conflicts between October and February. I'd be happy to provide more details if you think I might fit as crew on your boat, and can provide both local references and a reference for my ASA courses if helpful.
Thank you!
Bert Boyer

Hello, My name is Katie and I have been working on tall ships for the past year. I completed a 4000 nm journey up the east coast on a schooner and worked in San Fransisco on a brigantine this winter. I will be in Portland until October when I start work on another schooner on the east coast. I am looking to keep up my sailing skills this summer by continuing to sail as much as I can.

New sailor looking to race and learn more about sailing. I have a small amount of experience of racing J/24s (3 races) in Charleston, SC and have cruised a number of times in a J 105 but am very much a novice and working on developing my skills and techniques.

Used to sail all the time, was a Sea Scout Officer, helped sail a ketch from Humboldt to Portland, and have been sailing a bunch as a kid. Would love to get back into it and brush up on my knowledge. Looking forward to sail any size and type of vessel!

I have grown up with coastal and offshore sailing on 32ft-40ft boats in Hong Kong. Most of my competitive racing was in 29ers and Nacra F16/F18s. Raced collegiately in CFJs. I have completed numerous overnight races and open water races as well. Recently moved into the Portland area, and looking forward to get out on the water here!

Hi all, I'm interested in joining as crew for racing and/or cruising. I have about a year of sailing experience. I took the sailing 1 course and Bonneville overnight course at Portland Sailing Center. I've mostly sailed on 20-25ft keelboats. Beyond classes, I've rented boats at Portland Sailing Center and sailed on friend's boats.

I have a flexible schedule, live five minutes from NE 33rd, and Marine Drive and I'm always up for an adventure and to learn as much as possible about sailing.

Thanks

Completed Sail & Power Squadron courses in boating, sailing, marine navigation & piloting, and weather. Crewed on an Alberg 35 for weekend club racing from 2007-2012 on Seneca Lake (35 mi. long) in the Finger Lakes Region of New York State. Also regularly assisted the Captain with repairs on the Alberg 35. I recently moved to Portland and am very interested in getting back into sailing via crewing. Available most weekends and evenings after 5pm.

I took the PSC beginning 101 class last summer and did their overnight Bonneville trip in the fall. This spring I did a bareboat charter trip on the sea of Cortez with Travis Johnson. I am planning to get my ASA 101, 103 and 104 in June in the San Juans. I would love opportunity to sail and I crease my skills.

I'm mostly looking for more experience as crew delivering boats. I've done a few (Newport to Astoria and Portland to Bellingham) and looking for more. I'm knowledgeable and reliable and come with references. I've taken ASA 101 - 104 and I have the goal of getting my captains license in the near future. I have a flexible schedule and a passport. I own my own boat, a Cascade 27, and I've been on various boats ranging from under 20' to 40'. Feel free to email or call if you need crew.

I’ve completed an intro to sailing course with Portland Sailing School, 12 hours of solo boat time on small 25’ boats and an overnight trip to cascade locks on a 35’ boat with a small crew. I am looking to get more experience on the water this summer, and really interested in racing and learning to sail fast and efficiently.

I am a fit 64 yr old that fell in love with sailing only last year. I completed the 18 hour basics sailing class at Portland Sailing Center. Last fall we took an overnight sailing course on the Columbia River up through the Cascade locks. Last week I returned from a week-long bareboat charter in Mexico that was led by one of our Portland Captains. I also sailed some other boats for a few hours last year, so I believe I have about 80 hours of sailing experience. I am also signed up for an ASA 101, 103, 104 course this summer: https://sanjuansailing.com/instruction-sail/basic-to-bareboat-learn.html My goal is to become proficient at sailing and and ultimately coastal cruising around the San Juan and Gulf Islands.

I have previously lived on a boat (90 ft vessel similar to a Thames sailing barge) for four months, but we mostly were docked or driving under motor power, not sailing. I gained some basic knowledge of knots, navigation, steering, docking, and swabbing the deck of course. I love being on the water and want to learn more about actual sailing.

Howdy! I used to crew pretty regularly in the SF Bay Area (Bay and coastal races) on boats ranging from Ultimates/Merrits/Olsons to C&C 40s.(plus regular dinghy sailing and just bouncing around the Bay on a range of boats generally < 30 ft). I LOVE being on the water - the last ten years or so I've mainly kayaked because I lived places where the sailing was meh. Happy to be rail meat for beer can races to start. Or to just go out for a cruise. Not really much of a partier when on the water - maybe a long drawn out can of something if its super hot and slow but prefer to just concentrate on the race or dangle my toes above the water.

I am looking for a crew position on a competitive boat. I love to race and have experience on all positions. I am particularly looking for a position on a competitive PHRF or one design like a J105. I am available for practice sessions, race days and able to take time off to race Swiftsure, Anacortes Week or any other regattas as I am self employed. I own a 32’ Erickson Scorpion 5.5 Meter and race every Wednesday in Eugene in a one design fleet of the same boats with a crew of 4. I live in Portland and would like to race closer to home and more often. Feel free to contact me for fill in positions on short notice or if you have a competitive boat looking for a dedicated crew member.

Greetings,
I am a young and enthusiastic sailor who has been sailing for nearly half my life. (14 years! Yeah, I'm that young) I have experience on Catalina 22s, Olson 34s, and a C&C 44 with PYC on the Columbia. I completed US Sailing's Safety at Sea Offshore course last year and am very interested in crewing for the PNW Offshore this year!
