Many years of racing experience on many types of boats. I have owned a dozen sailboats and sailed and raced on more tihan 75 different sizes and types of sailboats. I’ve done club and offshore racing in NE, the Caribbean, north Pacific and the Gulf of Mexico. I have more than 5000 miles of offshore delivery experience on catamarans and a 76’ sloop.

Hi! I have little to no sailing experience but have been yearning to learn to sail since forever and it's the perfect time in my life to make my dream come true. I am an extremely fast learner and am able to help with any task needed. I work great under pressure and can guarantee after a week or two ill have everything down and do it flawlessly!

I have experience on the following classes of sailboats: J44, J105, Figaro 2. (A few weekends sailing a laser over the winter.)

I was on the offshore sailing team in college competing in regattas across Long Island sound. As well in Annapolis at the Naval Academy against teams from across the country.

I am interested in crewing on vessels and learning new skills. Also networking and meeting new people.

I sailed competitively in San Diego for three years and ran the retail section of a rig shop while I was there. We moved to Portland seven years ago and I would like to find a less competitive way to get on the water. I work on Sundays but If that sounds good let me know.

Hi there,

I am new to sailing, having started doing Wednesday night sails with OWSA in June 2024. I love it and am eager to learn everything I can. I’m willing to work in any position as a crew member - and more than happy to be a substitute to start.

While I don’t know everything about sailing - here’s why I think you might enjoy working with me: I have a “can do” attitude and am not afraid to jump in and work hard. I’m fairly fit, strong, and have good balance on a boat. I stay calm under pressure, or in moments of emergency. I have a sense of humor and can get along with just about anyone. I’m focused and pay attention to what I’m doing (I’m not someone whose attention drifts off or who needs to be reminded to do my job).

Overall, I’m looking to learn and would love to chat with anyone looking for permanent or substitute crew for this winter.

I've sailed intermittently since i was a kid - small boats like Sun Fish and later in my teens and 20's larger vessels (like tall ships.) After a 15 year break, I'm back to it, and welcome any opportunity to sail. I have completed my ASA 101 and 103 and am now just looking to get experience on different vessels with different crews. I'm interested in both racing and cruising. I have a positive attitude, take direction, and learn quickly. I also work per diem, which means that with advance notice, I can take time away for longer voyages.

Sailed in winter Sunday and summer Tuesday series on Columbia in 2023. Sailed in several Hong Kong regattas, certification in HK on dinghies and J80s. Over 150 hours in the last year. Most comfortable trimming the chute and main, but can adapt.

I am 101 cert'd with about 30hrs of sailing experience on the Columbia (on different boats). Working sheets or helm is comfortable. My mate Sam can also join to help complete a crew. I think ideal fit would be someone has a boat and just wants to use it more.

I have about 175 hours of sailing experience that includes a basics 1 sailing course at Portland Sailing Center, a one-week bareboat charter with an experienced captain in the Sea of Cortez, and most recently, I completed and passed my ASA 101, 103, 104 certification courses in the San Juan Islands. I also participated as crew on a Merit 25 that unfortunately is no longer racing on the Columbia. I am 65 years old, but consider myself fit for both racing and cruising. My goal is to learn more about sailing and ultimately own and/or charter a 30-35 ft sailboat to sail in the San Juan and Gulf Islands. I am available almost all summer and am willing to sail in the fall and winter, but have travel conflicts between October and February. I'd be happy to provide more details if you think I might fit as crew on your boat, and can provide both local references and a reference for my ASA courses if helpful.

New sailor looking to race and learn more about sailing. I have a small amount of experience of racing J/24s (3 races) in Charleston, SC and have cruised a number of times in a J 105 but am very much a novice and working on developing my skills and techniques.

Used to sail all the time, was a Sea Scout Officer, helped sail a ketch from Humboldt to Portland, and have been sailing a bunch as a kid. Would love to get back into it and brush up on my knowledge. Looking forward to sail any size and type of vessel!

I have grown up with coastal and offshore sailing on 32ft-40ft boats in Hong Kong. Most of my competitive racing was in 29ers and Nacra F16/F18s. Raced collegiately in CFJs. I have completed numerous overnight races and open water races as well. Recently moved into the Portland area, and looking forward to get out on the water here!
