Sail into Spring

Oregon Corinthian Sailing Association (OCSA)

OCSA Membership
It’s that time of year, as the racing season is upon us in full force!! As you renew or join OCSA for 2023, please ensure your email is correct in order to receive current and updated Racing and Sailing event notices. Your boat’s name, sail number and design are used as your boat’s identification for races on the water (note: enter “N/A” if you do not own a boat). We appreciate your assistance to help us ensure you’re properly scored and you receive the most up-to-date info and news!

2023 OCSA Racebook
As we have moved away from printing OCSA Racebooks, we are now offering two options:

  • As before, an e-version is available on SailPDX. You may also enter Racebook in the search bar at the top, right side of the page to easily locate it. Accessing the 2023 Racebook online also allows you to easily access a single page, if needed, via a mobile device.
  • For those who would still like a paper/print copy of the OCSA Racebook, we have made arrangements for print-on-demand, which may be ordered and paid online, then picked up in Vancouver WA.
    • Pickup Location:  9 Cent Color Copies (5951 E 18th St. #108 Vancouver, WA 98661)
    • Hours: Mon-Fri | 10am to 3pm
    • Cost: $15.73
    • Turnaround Time: Usually 2-4 days

OCSA Volunteers Needed
OCSA is an all-volunteer-run organization. Some of our volunteers have contributed more than 30 years with OCSA, SYSCO, PYC, CYC and other racing clubs/fleets in the Portland area sailing community.

In order to keep our races going, specific positions need to be filled each season. Most of us have skills that can be transferred into specific roles to support OUR sailing community. Please consider contributing your time and lending a hand to continue making Portland Sailboat Racing possible. Current needs include:

  • Email edit/design (MailChimp)  *NOW!!*
  • Email address management/updates (MailChimp)
  • SailPDX webmaster assistance
  • PHRF Representation
  • Racing Rules Hearing Committee
  • Race Official (or unofficial)
  • Racing Education

If you are able/willing to help, please email the OCSA Rear Commodore, as we can work with you to fit these tasks into YOUR time availability.

Thank you for considering,
Jan and Lilli

Small Yacht Sailing Club of Oregon (SYSCO)

Neither rain, nor snow, nor sleet, nor hail shall keep the SYSCO Spring Series down! So, come on out race with your best PNW attitude and gear up for some great sailing!!

  • Fleet Captains: Please organize your race committees. All racers are depending on a Race Committee (RC) Boat to show flags and oversee the race.
  • Fleet Members:  Contact your Fleet Captain for RC duty assignments. RC duty is a hands-on, how to and a lot of fun, providing the best seat in “the house” to watch the races and learn!!
  • Questions? Contact the SYSCO Race Captain.
