Sailing Foundation Celebration Event

Please join us in marking our 50th anniversary this year! Throughout our existence, The Sailing Foundation has relied on the generosity of our community and supporters to fund ambitious goals and programs. Our organization grew out of an America’s Cup campaign and a passion for helping local sailors get to the top of our sport. Since then, our mission has evolved to help bring new people into the sport and promote boating safety. Today our mission is distilled into five key components:

RACING- We support amateur sailboat racing opportunities at the youth, high school, and collegiate level through clinics, guest coaching, and regatta management.

OUTREACH- We seek to improve access and introduce the joys of sailing to youth through advocacy, scholarships, and support of local learn-to-sail programs.

ORGANIZING- We help coordinate opportunities at the local, regional, and national level. This information is broadcast through our affiliate site www.nwyouthsailing.org.

TRAINING- We partner with US Sailing to conduct instructor/coach certification courses and informal professional development opportunities for area coaches and leaders.

SAFETY- We work to advance boating safety at all levels. This includes an annual Safety at Sea Seminar, hands-on Lifesling training, and advocating within groups like the Washington State Boating Advisory Council.

Please consider supporting us today, so that we can continue to serve the Northwest sailing community for another 50 years.

Cheers
