The 2014 fishing season for spring Chinook on the Columbia begins today, March 1st, and will be in effect through April 7th. This looks to be a highly anticipated season for anglers – Columbia River spring Chinook forecasts, released in mid-January, suggest that this year’s run will see almost twice as many fish as last year’s forecast and actual return.
So sailors, this means that there may be a lot more fisherman on the Columbia – so, do watch for fishing lines, follow right-of-way rules, be respectful and remember…our beautiful waterways belong to all of us.
