PORTLAND YACHT CLUB (PYC)
Robert A Smith Regatta, Oct 2-3
Portland Yacht Club invites all eligible boats to participate in the PYC Robert A Smith Regatta on the Columbia River between I-5 & I-205 bridges. For details and to register, go to the SailPDX Notice Board.
YAQUINA BAY YACHT CLUB (YBYC)
Columbus Day Regatta, Oct 9-10
You are cordially invited to participate in the YBYC Columbus Day Regatta. This Notice of Race includes racing information and an entry form which must be mailed to YBYC (no credit card payment options are available for this event). For additional information or more entry forms, contact the YBYC Race Chair online or YBYC 750 S.E. Bay Blvd, Newport, OR 97365.

2021 OCSA Nominations
ALSO, reminding everyone that nominations are open at this time for the 2021 OCSA Awards and Trophies.
- Sailor of the Year: This trophy is for the individual that has gone beyond the call of duty in their contributions to the sailing community.
- Good Times: The sailor who always seems to have had the most infectious good time.
- Welcome Slough: A new sailor who has put forth extra effort to be involved in the sailing community.
- U.S. Sailing Sportsmanship: Awarded to the individual who has exhibited Corinthian sportsmanship both on and off the water.
Check out the extensive list of previous OCSA trophy recipients! And, while you’re there, nominate those who you deem as deserving recognition for their outstanding contribution to our sailing community. Nominations will be accepted until Monday, October 18th. Feel free to share the link, as well. Nominees do not need to be OCSA members to qualify, nor do you need to be to submit your nomination.

Tipping my cap to all the sailors who dared to endeavor to participate and enjoy what the 2021 season had to offer. I saw beautiful sunsets, wild wind, spinnakers wrapped around buoys and a lot of smiles. If I don’t get a chance to see you again in person this calendar year, know that I’m looking forward to seeing you on the river next year!
