With just a month left before the April 15th tax deadline, consider donating to one of the following charitable organizations and support your local sailing community. Before making any donation, it’s always a good idea to check the IRS website to confirm those organizations that are eligible to receive tax-deductible charitable contributions.
Oregon Women’s Sailing Association (OWSA)
OWSA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, run solely by volunteers, to promote and facilitate the participation of women in sailboat cruising and/or racing events in Oregon and Southwest Washington. We couldn’t provide first-rate sailing education and opportunities without our volunteers and generous donors. OWSA accepts both tax-deductible cash or non-cash donations.
Oregon Youth Sailing Foundation
Oregon Youth Sailing Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit foundation for the support of youth sailing in Oregon. OYSF was established in 2007 in Portland, Oregon, and makes grants to support youth dinghy sailing. As of 2014, OYSF has over $300,000 and funded boats, sails, multimedia equipment, and sailing camp scholarships at Willamette Sailing Club, the Columbia Gorge Racing Association, and the Oregon Maritime Museum.

PYC Youth Sailing Scholarship Fund
The mission and purpose of the non-profit Portland Yacht Club Youth Sailing Scholarship fund is to provide scholarship money to encourage and assist young people to take junior sailing lessons in the greater Portland area. If you know of someone that would like to get their kids out on the water we’d like to help! We offer scholarship money for lessons at the Willamette Sailing Club or Vancouver Lake Sailing Club.

Rose City Youth Sailing Society
Rose City Youth Sailing Society (RCYSS) is a non-profit that builds relationships with local sailing clubs, and coordinates efforts among the sailing community to further promote youth sailing. RCYSS helps Willamette Sailing school and Vancouver Lake sailing school maintain and purchase equipment as well as provide financial aid and discounted tuition. It’s easy to get financial help! Just fill out the application found on the brochure two weeks before a class and email it in.
